Prior to joining Kriss Law Mike served as Vice President, Special Counsel and State Manager for First American Title Insurance Company directing Massachusetts operations.

Mike has lectured on real estate law and practice to thousands of real estate professionals as well as lawyers and lenders and has personally conducted over 20,000 real estate closings in his career. Mike received his BA from Boston University and his JD from New England Law.

Steve Richman, Genworth

Steve Richman is Genworth’s “That Mi GuySM“. He is a national speaker who has energized, taught and motivated mortgage and real estate professionals in every state in the U.S. After years of success as a litigation attorney, Steve entered the mortgage and real estate profession. He has been a loan officer, account executive and manager of a mortgage operation.

Steve taught in the MBA program at the Sellinger Business School and has been a guest lecturer for the Columbia University Business School’s MBA program. He is a Master Certified Sales Negotiation Trainer and a Certified Trainer in DiSC Behavioral Profiling.

He graduated from University of Maryland and the National Law Center at George Washington University

Jeffrey Tesch is Managing Director of RCN Capital LLC, a national, direct private lender. He is responsible for the day-to-day operations of RCN, including sales growth initiatives, underwriting review with compliance oversight and leadership of senior level strategic planning. Joining the Company in 2010, Tesch led efforts to develop a national brand in private lending with the best practices and transparent products for a diverse customer base. Since RCN’s inception, Jeff has personally underwritten over 1,800 loans and overseen $375M+ in originations. Jeff’s previous real estate experience was as an investor in both commercial and residential properties, ranging from single family homes to commercial retail centers. Jeff currently serves as a member of the American Association of Private Lenders’ (AAPL) Ethics Advisory Committee.




Nancy G. Pratt, Vice President of Partner Relations and Government Affairs, Pavaso

Nancy provides team leadership in attaining company goals, and manages the strategic relationships for the growth of the company.  She is responsible in maintaining the relationships at Federal and State level, understanding key regulatory issues and laws that pertain to the operations of Pavaso. She is involved with Sales Support and strategy of the promotion and development of the Digital Mortgage Solutions throughout the Title agent network and lender segment of the industry.

Nancy has over 12 years of experience in the eMortgage/eClosing space, which played a key role in leading the go-to-market and implementation strategies for Pavaso’s two CFPB pilots.

Nancy has been in the mortgage/title industry for over 32 years and highlights of her career include industry milestones of performing the first complete eMortgage with lenders and conducting the first ever FHA and VA eClosings.

Nancy has been invited to speak at various Industry Conventions as an eClosing/eMortgage subject expert.  She is a member of the ALTA Government Affairs, Public Relations, State Regulatory Action and Technology Committee and the Co-chair of the MBA MISMO eMortgage Group. Nancy has been elected to the MISMO Board of Governance Technology Committee for 2017, in addition to being a member of MBA’s Residential Technology Committee.  She is a member of PRIA, MBA, MISMO, ESRA, RESPRO, National eNotarization Board, and has served on the eMortgage FNMA Innovation Team.

Nancy was named as a Leading Lady in the Mortgage Industry by The MReport in 2015.  In 2016, she was a recipient of the 2016 MBA Tech All Star Award and was named as an Elite Women in Mortgage by Mortgage Professional America and was most recently named one of Housing Wire’s Women of Influence.




Bernard M. Markstein, President and Chief Economist, Markstein Advisors

Bernard M. Markstein is President and Chief Economist, Markstein Advisors, an economic consulting company providing analysis and forecasts of the national economy and construction activity. Dr. Markstein’s experience includes analysis and research in housing, residential and nonresidential construction, real estate, financial markets, macroeconomic issues, and regional markets. Dr. Markstein has appeared on Bloomberg Business, CNBC, Fox Business, and Nightly Business Report (PBS). Among publications where he has been quoted are the New York Times, Business Week, Wall Street Journal, and Forbes. He is a regular participant in the quarterly Bankrate Economic Indicator survey.

Prior to being an economic consultant, Dr. Markstein was U.S. Chief Economist for Reed Construction Data (now CMD) where he analyzed, commented on, and forecasted residential and commercial construction activity. Before that, Dr. Markstein was Senior Economist and Vice President, Economic Forecasting and Analysis, for the National Association of Home Builders, providing analysis on national and regional housing issues, on developments and trends in the multifamily housing market, and on the forces affecting building materials prices.

Dr. Markstein has also held positions as Chief Economist for Meridian Bancorp, Inc. based in Reading, PA., manager of the Financial Forecasting Service for Chase Econometrics (now IHS Global Insight), and as Assistant Professor at Temple University’s Department of Finance in the School of Business.

Among his professional activities, Dr. Markstein has served as the Chair of the National Association for Business Economics (NABE) Real Estate/Construction Roundtable and as Chair for the NABE Financial Roundtable. Dr. Markstein also served as Chair of the Economic Advisory Committee for the Pennsylvania Bankers Association, and is a former president of the Philadelphia Council for Business Economics.

Dr. Markstein received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from Brown University and a Doctorate in Economics from Yale University.

Richard A. Hogan, Vice President and Associate General Counsel, CATIC

Richard A. Hogan is Vice President and Associate General Counsel at CATIC. In this capacity he ensures compliance for every state in which CATIC conducts business and monitors legislative enactments on the federal and state level. Mr. Hogan is a Past-President of the Connecticut Title Association. He received his law degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law as well as an undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut in Storrs. Mr. Hogan is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association and the American Bar Association.

Sue Quilty, Principal, Quilty and Associates

Sue Quilty has been in the residential lending field for over 25 years and has had the opportunity to work in many different roles including Compliance, Operations and Auditing.  For the last 17 years, Sue has been providing compliance and quality control support to savings banks, credit unions, mortgage brokers and mortgage lenders through her consulting firm: Quilty & Associates.  Sue is on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Mortgage Bankers Association, and is also a member of the MMBA Compliance Committee.

Seth C. Bogdan, Vice President – Lending Technology, Specialized Data Systems

As Vice President of Lending Technology for Specialized Data Systems (SDS), Seth oversees the implementation of rules based lending technology used to originated, process, underwrite and close residential mortgages in the banking industry.  Seth has participated as a guest speaker for organizations such as the Massachusetts Mortgage Bankers Association and the Connecticut Bankers Association, with an emphasis on the impact of compliance on technology providers.

Seth helped to launch the first SaaS based lending technology platform that is utilized by institutions ranging in size from small community banks all the way up to some of the largest banks in the world.  Seth joined SDS in 2007 as lead business analyst and works closely with his clients to monitor the regulatory environment, while providing cutting edge lending technology that incorporates robust capabilities along with integrated compliance testing.

Mr. Bogdan has been actively involved in banking since 1993, which includes managing an independent mortgage company, underwriting for some of the largest banks in the Northeast, and managing the due diligence process for secondary market sales up to a billion dollars.  In addition, he has experience in business development, loan origination, and processing residential mortgage loans.

Mr. Bogdan holds a Bachelor of Science from Salve Regina University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with honors, was president of the Delta Alpha Chapter of Delta Epsilon Sigma and was a member of the Sigma Phi Sigma honors society.  He currently resides in Glastonbury Connecticut with his wife and two daughters.

Doug Fleener, President & Managing Partner, Sixth Star Consulting

Doug Fleener is passionate about the impact people and the customer experience has on client and sales growth. As the Director of Retail for Bose Corporation, he was instrumental in developing their unique and engaging customer experience approach. Fleener is now president and managing partner of Sixth Star Consulting, a boutique consulting firm located in Lexington, MA. He works with leaders to look at their staff and customer experience differently, to see how good they are and how much better they can become.

Sean is entering his 25th  year in the mortgage industry and his 12th year with Fannie Mae. He began working as a Relationship Manager in 2012, working with Fannie Mae’s Northeast customers. During his career at Fannie Mae, Sean has worked in Capital Markets, Lender Strategy and Customer Management. Sean is a Washington, DC native and is currently based in Fannie Mae’s Headquarters in the Nation’s Capital.
